This Privacy Policy explains how Chair Yoga Fit (“Chair Yoga Fit”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Chair Yoga Fit app for seniors (the “App”) and this website. We are committed to keeping your data minimal and protected.
Information we collect
- Usage & analytics data: pseudonymous information about how the App is used (e.g. routines started/completed, screens viewed) to improve the experience. On Android, Google Firebase Analytics may also use the device’s advertising ID for analytics; we do not show ads.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate region, as provided by the platform.
- Your profile and plan answers: the answers you give when setting up your plan, such as your age, weight, goals, health conditions, mobility aids and body areas to avoid, plus your daily mood check-ins and feedback after sessions. This can include health-related information that you choose to enter. It is stored with Google Firebase under a random app ID (not your name or email), together with your approximate country and device platform, and is used to personalize your plan and to understand, in aggregate, how the App helps people.
- Community posts (optional): if you choose to share a session comment with the community, that comment is visible to other users of the App.
- Coach chat: when you use the AI coach, your messages and the relevant parts of your profile (such as your goals and areas to avoid) are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. The coach is an AI, not a human.
- Notifications: a push notification token, so we can send the reminders you allow.
- Subscription & purchase status: whether you hold an active subscription. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Website visit counts: this website counts page visits and clicks on download buttons without cookies. For each event we store the page, the button, the language, your approximate country and your device type (for example iPhone or computer). We do not store IP addresses or use this data to identify you.
- Apple Health data (optional): only if you grant permission, the App may write completed-workout data to Apple Health. This data stays on your device within Apple Health; we do not collect or transmit it.
The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, or contact details to use it.
Android launch email (waitlist)
On our Android page you can ask to be emailed once when the Android app launches. If you do, we store your email address, the language you used, your approximate country and device type, the time you signed up and the consent you gave. We first send one email asking you to confirm (double opt-in); your address is only used after you confirm. We use it to send that confirmation and one launch email, nothing else. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the link in every email; doing so deletes your address. Addresses that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days, and all addresses are deleted after the launch email has been sent. The data is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Your answers to the short plan questions are not linked to your email address; they are counted anonymously to improve the app.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its chair yoga routines.
- To understand usage trends and fix bugs and crashes.
- To manage subscriptions and unlock premium content.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers that process limited data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (content delivery, profile storage, analytics and push notifications) — see Google’s privacy information.
- Superwall (subscription paywall management) — see the Superwall privacy policy.
- OpenRouter (AI coach), which passes coach messages to the AI model provider that generates the reply (currently Anthropic) — see the OpenRouter privacy policy.
- Google (Google Play distribution and in-app purchases on Android) — see Google’s privacy policy.
- Apple (App Store distribution and in-app purchases) — see Apple’s privacy policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers above, as needed to operate the App, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep analytics and diagnostic data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Children’s privacy
The App is intended for adults — particularly seniors — and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. You can also disable notifications or revoke Apple Health permissions in your device settings at any time. To make a request, including asking us to delete the profile data stored for your app installation, contact us at support@chairyoga.fit.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
